ABOUT ME

gold heart illustration

I live in Worcestershire with my husband and our cockapoo, Harvey. Fortunately, both are reasonably well-behaved.

I love my walks with Harvey, snuggling under a blanket for movie afternoons, and travelling across the UK in our cosy little caravan. So I am totally up for ceremonies anywhere, anytime.

As an independent celebrant, I am dedicated to infusing fun, love, and unforgettable memories into each ceremony. I am down to earth, so whatever you are thinking, throw it at me and we’ll work with it.

Using your unique love story as the foundation, I ensure every event is special and meaningful ensuring that you get to create lasting memories. I want all of my ceremonies to be fully inclusive and diverse, so that it can be accessible and enjoyable to you and all of your guests.

WORKING WITH ME

I can’t wait to start planning this ceremony with you, so we’ll arrange a meet up over coffee and cake, or Zoom or Whatsapp – whatever works best for you.

I’ll take a note of all of your ideas and I’ll throw a few in the mix as well. Most importantly, I’ll get your story from you as that forms the focus of the ceremony. From that I will create a draft ceremony with all bases covered.

I can help you with your vows if you need it and any readings, poems or music. You may have this all planned already – which is fantastic!

About a month before the ceremony, we’ll have another meeting to go over everything, make any changes that are needed and make sure that the ceremony is all that you want it to be.

I am a proud member of the Association of Independent Celebrants so you can be assured that I will provide a professional service.

You can contact me any time if you have any new ideas or questions, I am there for you from our first chat to the BIG DAY!

BIG QUESTIONS

WHY HAVE A CELEBRANT-LED CEREMONY?

gold heart illustration

Your story, your words, told your way:

Celebrants work with you to create a unique ceremony that reflects your personalities, values, and love story. This can include writing your own vows, incorporating special rituals, and choosing meaningful readings. By the time the day arrives, you will have a ceremony that you believe in performed by someone who has become close to you as a couple.

Wherever, whenever:

You are free to choose any location for your celebrant-led ceremony – from licensed wedding venues to beaches and gardens to castles and private homes. Want a sunset ceremony on a deserted beach – absolutely!

No limitations:

You can include anything you want in your ceremony – a champagne toast? I’m all in for that one! You might have a religious or cultural element you would like to be included – no problem. How about your gorgeous pup as the ring bearer? Well that will get an ‘ooh’ from the crowd and make for some great photos.

BIG QUESTIONS

WHY HAVE A SYMBOLIC RITUAL?

gold heart illustration

Unlike a civil ceremony, you are able to incorporate rituals into your ceremony that are meaningful to you and your guests. It is a wonderful way to be able to include guests in the ceremony.

Most rituals symbolise the joining of 2 people or 2 families as one. That from that moment on they are combined into one bigger, stronger, united family.

For example, with a handfasting, you can just have it as a moment between you two as a couple. Or you could have family or friends help with winding a ribbon around your arms. The colours or ribbons themselves can have a special meaning. Think Scottish tartan, school colours (or even the ties themselves), football team colours, or simply matching the colour theme of the ceremony.

We can chat about different rituals and what you feel an affinity with – or maybe we can come up with something new! It's all about creating a symbolic action that speaks to you as a couple.

FAQs

gold heart illustration
Can a celebrant conduct a legally binding marriage or civil partnership?

Currently, in England and Wales, unfortunately no. There are exceptions in Scotland and Northern Ireland for Humanist celebrants. Hopefully, this will change and it is being discussed in parliament – but for now – watch this space!

How does the process work with a celebrant ceremony?

Before your celebrant ceremony you would hold a Statutory Ceremony at your local Register Office for your legal marriage. There are set fees for this of around £60. It is quick and simple (about 30 minutes) and you just need 2 witnesses. Think of all the movies where they grabbed 2 strangers off the street. And then you’re good to go and ready for the ceremony that you actually want.

Where do you conduct ceremonies?

I am based in Evesham, Worcestershire, so can easily cover Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and the Cotswolds. But I am happy to cover the whole of the UK.

I have decided to have a rehearsal – will you be able to attend?

I will not take any bookings the day before the ceremony, so I can guarantee that I am available. Any other date, I will do my best to be there for you.

Can I have a religious reading or prayer included?

Yes, you can have anything you want. As this is not legally binding you are not restricted to what a registrar ceremony will permit.

Can I have a champagne toast as part of the ceremony?

Great idea! There are no restrictions on alcohol in my ceremonies.

What about my furbaby – can I include them?

There is nothing as cute as a furbaby ring bearer – we can work that into the ceremony as long as I get a cuddle afterwards.

Do you do destination weddings?

YES PLEASE!

Do you do last minute ceremonies?

Contact me and I will do all that I can to get you your dream ceremony in time.

What are your payment terms?

All my booking terms can be found on my T&Cs page (in the Menu).
